Although we frequently feature some familiar names (all at extremely competitive prices!), our forte is locating the small production, high quality items that are just not found in the large chain stores and supermarkets. There’s nothing we like better than discovering a great new Cabernet or Merlot at a rock-bottom price!

Our knowledgeable staff scours the wine publications and spends endless hours speaking to the importers and distributors in order to search out great bargains in the world of wine. And by virtue of our on-site ownership and independent nature, we are able to move quickly to secure allocations of these top scoring and highly sought-after items.

In need of a last-minute gift or just a great bottle of wine, consider...

* Beau Vigne 2007 Reserve Napa Cabernet ($89.99); the ’06 got 96 from Parker and I can safely predict that when scores for the ‘07’s are released in The Wine Advocate on 12/22, this will go even higher. Could be the highest scoring cult cab at the lowest price! VERY limited.

* Cliff Lede 2006 Stag’s Leap Cabernet ($44.99); 92 points and simply delicious; a great QPR choice and drinking spectacularly right now. (Ask my wife to put one in my stocking if you see her J )

* Peter Michael 2007 “Belle Cote” Chardonnay ($89.99); 96 point chard that’s MY favorite vineyard bottling from this stellar producer.

* Kistler 2006 “Vine Hill” Chardonnay ($74.99); if there’s competition at the top for Peter Michael, it’s Steve Kistler’s fabulous chards.

* Orin Swift’s The Prisoner 2008 ($89.99 per 1.5 litre); yes, that’s the brand new vintage and we’ve got it first in magnums---a great gift or party treat. The Prisoner has been in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 the last 3 years running, a feat that’s near-impossible to top!

* Duckhorn 2006 Napa Merlot ($35.99); 92 points and look at this price!

Pahlmeyer Vineyards Merlot 2006 ($44.99); one of the classic examples of just how great Merlot can be in Napa. With sweet chocolate, mocha, cola, black berry, and plum aromas and flavors as well as a full body. A sumptuous, dense texture and no hard edges. Hedonistic, mouthfilling, and luscious, this Merlot is good to consume over the next 10-15 years.

* Joseph Phelps Insignia Proprietary Red Wine ($139.99); 95+ points. The 2006 Isignia (95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot; 16,000 cases produced) is a superb effort in this vintage. Another 30+ year wine, it boasts a dense plum/purple color as well as abundant notes of licorice, black currants, charcoal, black olives, and graphite. Full-bodied, pure, and rich with moderately high tannins, it represents a California version of a Bordeaux from Pauillac or  St.-Julien.

* Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Signature 2007 ($45.99); 92 points. Very tightly wound, firm and taut, rich and full-bodied, offering intense mineral, blackberry, plum and currant fruit, with hints of flowers and sage. Ends with gripping tannins, but ont he finish the flavors slowly unwind and expand.

* Chalk Hill Chardonnay Chalk Hill 2007  ($33.99); 93 points. Bold, rich and full-bodied, with succulent fig, apricot, moky oak and roasted marshmallow flavors that are complex and distinctive, finishing with a long, intricate finish and subtle flavor notes.

* Failla Chardonnay Keefer Ranch 2008($42.99); 93 points. More tropical fruit, marmalade, nectarine and orange blossom characteristics. It's freshness should provide pleasure over the next 4-6 years.

…and don’t forget our case discounting policy; Mix-and-match or straight cases always 10% less!
